Stephanie Poirier

Stephanie Poirier (Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work; 1 year in primary education – Université de Moncton) has worked with individuals aged 6 and up, which includes children, youth, adults, and seniors.

During her time working with the Mental Health and Addictions - Child and Youth team, at the Stan Cassidy Center for Rehabilitation, as well as the Occupational Stress Injury Clinic, she has worked with a wide range of folks with different backgrounds and needs, which brings a unique perspective for her to be able to provide valuable supports at the appropriate time. She is experienced in serving active military, veterans, as well as RCMP members. She has provided counselling for various challenges regarding : Grief, trauma, anxiety, parenting, depression, suicidality, non-suicidal self-injury (self-harm), ODD, ADHD, ASD, OCD, emotional regulation, life/work stressors, burnout, interpersonal relationships, and more.

Stephanie is known for her easy-going and welcoming nature. Clients often thank her for being a realist and relatable, making therapy sessions feel comfortable and supportive. She has training and experience in : The Brain Story (childhood trauma), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT-M), CBT-Insomnia, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Systems Training for Emotional Predictability and Problem Solving (STEPPS), Solution Focused Therapy, Sexual violence New Brunswick training, and more. Informed in: Cognitive Processing Therapy; Attachment. She combines evidence-based techniques with a down-to-earth approach, helping clients navigate through life's challenges. Stephanie works with: NIHB and Victim Services. Please check your insurance for coverage; Canada Life is covered! Unfortunately BlueCross plans are not typically covered (Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from Universite de Moncton). Stephanie's passion for helping others shines through in every interaction, making her a trusted and valued Social Worker in the community.
